Looking for singing opportunities in 2016? Helen is organising a workshop!

We are delighted to announce that Helen from the YourAccompanist team is collaborating with the organisers of Zêzerearts Festival to put on a one-day singing workshop this March. Here she is to tell you a bit about what’s in store…

Hi everyone!

I recently found myself in the rather lovely position of being asked to support distinguished Irish conductor, Brian MacKay, and his team, in putting on a singing event in the UK. We have devised an exciting plan for a convivial and immersive day of singing and repertoire preparation, culminating in an atmospheric concert supper.

The day will take place in the peaceful surroundings of Busses Farm in East Grinstead, home to a stunning barn venue – Yoghurt Rooms – which is easily accessible from London, Gatwick, Brighton, Lewes, Tonbridge Wells and the M25.

The repertoire for the day will be formed from well-known choral works which we hope participants will be already be familiar with, as well as opportunities for strong readers and advanced singers to have more of a musical challenge. We will include a taster of Thomas Tallis’s polychoral masterpiece Spem in Alium.

This event will be a rare opportunity for singers in the UK to get a glimpse of the high quality music making, performance and singer development opportunities which the Zêzerearts festival provides. Brian will be joined by a team of superb conductors and soloists, including musical director, Aoife Hiney.

I will be there too, obviously, so it will be a great chance to say hi at last! I’m really excited to be part of this but it is very soon and so any support which you can lend in getting the word out quickly is enormously appreciated. Some early bird tickets are still available. If you think that someone you know ought to hear about this opportunity, please do spread the word.

There will also be some on site glamping accommodation, including a whole yurt for a party of six singers attending together, so if that sounds like you and your friends, please move fast to secure it.

Take a look at the flyer below, and find out all the details, including detailed information about repertoire, Early Bird discounts, travel and accommodation options at www.brightonsingingworkshops.co.uk.
