Hitting the high notes for Parkinson’s UK

Horus CD ImageWe are delighted to have been able to use our accompaniments to give support to a fantastic charity project.

Christine Triffitt, 64, from Clevedon has released a CD to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK. ‘Simply Soprano’ is an eight track CD and digital download of traditional and sacred songs, available now on Amazon. Christine hopes to raise awareness of Parkinson’s as well as funds, as the cause is close to her heart.

Christine explains:  “I have a dear friend who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and I also work part-time in a care home where several of the residents also have Parkinson’s. I hope that those who enjoy this kind of music will want to donate to Parkinson’s UK in return for the CD or downloads, thereby contributing to the vital research needed to find a cure for Parkinson’s.

Resized-CPXSG“I call myself ‘The Grandmother with the voice of a choirboy’ as I have been told that my voice has this quality, think ‘Aled Jones’ as a boy’!
“Grateful thanks go to Michael Baron of YourAccompanist.com for use of their excellent backing tracks.”

Paul Jackson-Clark, Director of Fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Christine for her support. I hope the project will be a huge success and will encourage others to fundraise for us.

“As the UK’s Parkinson’s support and research charity we’re leading the work to find better treatments and ultimately a cure and we’re closer than ever. But our work is totally dependent on donations and fundraisers like Christine.”
