We just heard about a fantastic opportunity coming up this summer for a young repetiteur to get involved with an opera course:
“OperaCoast is keen to support not only singers but upcoming instrumentalists as well. Funded by our trustee, a pianist and an academic Nicole Panizza, this bursary offers an opportunity to an apprentice repetiteur to participate in our summer opera course.
Working alongside our professional accompanist and under their mentoring, an apprentice is a vital part of our course, helping singers to prepare for the performance in the end of the course and learning to work specifically on opera accompaniment. The bursary covers participation in the course and accommodation in Eastbourne for the duration of the course.”
The 2016 production will be Puccini’s La Rondine, taking place between 22-24 July. To qualify for the auditions you will have to be an under- or postgraduate student pianist willing to develop your skills in opera accompaniment. The chosen apprentice will receive a full Panizza bursary covering their participating in the course and accommodation and will be working alongside pianist Nigel Foster.
Auditions will take place in London on the 28th May. If you would like to apply for Panizza bursary, visit the Opera Coast website for full details.
