Spring Carol from A Ceremony of Carols
performed by Melanie Pos (CAN) and Nina Young (UK)
A Ceremony of Carols is a choral piece by Benjamin Britten written for Christmas, in 1942 while Britten was at sea, travelling from the United States to England. Fitting it is, then, that our next video features a transatlantic collaboration.
Melanie and Nina met online while taking part in the creative and altruistic activity that is the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt (GISH). Finding out they had more in common (both have connections to Canada, both play drums as well as singing, and both their home communities have had tragedies.
The best thing they could do for each other was make music together.
